Local. Regional. Global.
Sacrificially investing our time, talents and treasure as individuals, families, and the church as we love and serve our neighbors and the nations.
The purpose of the Loving our Neighbor teams is to intentionally promote, engage, and actively support our partner ministries as we fulfill our mission to love and serve our neighbors.
At APC, Loving Our Neighbors brings together the clear teaching of the Bible about the heart of the Christian life and some of the many opportunities around us to live a life that brings the love of Christ to others.
When we look around us for places to bring the goodness of the Good News to our world, we focus on three areas. First are those nearest to us: our friends, neighbors and others in our community who are experiencing various needs. Second, we look a bit farther out and see that in our state and nation there are Christian ministries hard at work in various areas that we can partner with. Then, we take a global view and see both the tremendous needs of people throughout the world and the missionaries who are in place in other countries whom we can support, encourage, and partner with to see the life-giving power of the gospel expand its influence.
Organizing to Serve
At APC we want to support all these opportunities, so we put in places teams of our members who can concentrate on one of these ministry areas:
- Local Ministry
- Regional Ministry
- Global Ministry
Local Ministry
The first goal of this team is to encourage individual members in building relationships with friends and neighbors, as well as to find ways to enter into service with ministry organizations in our area. Secondly, the team works directly to help us engage in local ministries that are supported by our church, such as:
Regional Ministry
The Regional Ministry Team works to encourage other ministries in our greater area and to assist members to be involved. Among these opportunities are:
Reformed University Fellowship, the PCA’s arm of college ministry with active groups at:
- Western Washington University
- Boise State University (Drew & Jessica Burdette)
- UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON (Aaron Carter).
Darren and Susie Maxfield working at Swan Graphics on the Yakama Indian Reservation.
Global Ministry
The Global Ministry Team works to build ties between APC and the ministries we support outside of our area. We help fund several ministries throughout the world, but this team works to help keep our congregation informed about what is happening in these areas, and also to find ways to bring support and encouragement to those who are serving in these places. Currently, we support the following global ministries:
- DH & Emily Henry ministering to the Navajo Nation through MISSION TO THE WORLD and THIRDMILL Seminary.
English Language Institute in China
International Student Ministry of Jay and Laura Stoms at Stellenbosch in South Africa.
HopeRussia (formerly the Slavic Reformation Society)
A Place for You?
At APC our ministry goal is NOT to fill every slot in an organizational chart! Instead, we believe that God has gifted each one of us uniquely and that often gives us a heart to be involved in a particular area or type of ministry.
We would love to talk to you about your passions, interests, and maybe, fears, to help you grow and serve in a life actively involved with others: that is what we call “church.”.
